Probably Stolen Hotfix 1.0.0.5: Bell Hotkey and Purifier Price

Hotfix 1.0.0.5 adds a rebindable counter bell hotkey, cuts the Water Purifier from 300 to 250 and fixes sorting, scanner readings and overnight handling.

What is in hotfix 1.0.0.5?

The official Hotfix & Bell Hotkey Rebind — 1.0.0.5 post adds one new control, changes several defaults and collects fixes for sorting, storage, scanners and the chemistry line. The equipment change is the Water Purifier at 250 credits.

Change Before After 1.0.0.5
Water Purifier price 300 250
Auto-rotate while sorting On Off for new players
Frame rate cap Off, fixed 60 On, follows the monitor, VSync
Counter bell Mouse only Also the B key

Existing saves keep their own settings. The purifier’s overnight processing is unchanged; the water guide and the item table carry the new price.

What does the counter bell hotkey do?

Call next customer (Bell) is a new rebindable key, bound to B by default. Pressing it rings the counter bell; holding it dismisses the customer at the counter, the same result as holding the bell itself.

The key can be reassigned in the control settings like any other binding. The other handling shortcuts are collected in shop management.

What does the Water Purifier cost now?

A Water Purifier costs 250 credits, against 350 for a Moisture Farm and 25 for a Water Filter.

Nothing in the machine’s operation changed. Load a container, fit a charged cell and read Max Purity and Contaminant Removed (Last Night) from the tooltip as before. The purifier rework itself belongs to 1.0.0.2, and the purity calculator models one cycle from your own reading.

Which settings changed?

  • Frame rate cap: on by default, following the monitor’s refresh rate with a 60 FPS floor instead of a fixed 60. The limiter is now VSync; it was switched on once for every player and can be turned off again in Options. The same change targets the stuttering and screen tearing reported on high refresh rate displays and in fullscreen.
  • Auto-rotate while sorting: off by default for new players.
  • Resolution dropdown: on a monitor that is not 16:9, it now shows the monitor’s native resolution while a fullscreen mode is selected.
  • Borderless fullscreen: supported on non-16:9 monitors.

The system requirements guide covers the display side of these options.

What changed at the counter and in storage?

  • Load Game opens the most recent run with its earlier days already expanded.
  • Dragging a single item onto a storage bay tab moves it into that tab, which multi-selected groups already did.
  • The Scavenger’s Token can now be kept in the Dossier.
  • A Smuggler Bay Mod delivered by the Underground Exchange is no longer thrown out with the trash if you leave it in the trash can overnight.
  • The Merchant keeps visiting every Sunday after you buy the store.
  • The cassette player stops when the game over screen appears instead of playing over the music.
  • Offering a Water Pitcher with its Water Filter still inside now makes the customer tell you to take the filter out, rather than silently refusing the sale.

The trash and smuggler note extends a 1.0.0.1 fix that covered bays placed in the trash. For what a bay conceals and what an officer can search, see security and contraband.

Which crafting and inspection details changed?

  • Drag any bandage onto a Glass Shard to make a Glass Shiv; the bandage is not used up.
  • Scanners truncate liquid volumes to the hundredth: 1,996 µl reads 1.99 mL, not 2.00.
  • The Evaporator no longer leaves 1 µl of water in a mixed alcohol batch, which cost an extra night and got the batch refused by the Chem Finisher. Dry-input recipes also ignore trace moisture.
  • Loot crates no longer restock with new random items when a save is loaded after your luck has increased; contents are final once revealed.
  • A Current Converter sealed inside a locked supply crate no longer unlocks the nightly Current Converter service.
  • The Inventor stocks the Gene Scanner once Rat Ranching is unlocked.
  • The lettering on one Food Stamps denomination was changed, which matters when you compare a stamp against the handbook’s lettering check.

The truncated reading describes a range rather than a rounded figure, so a 1.99 mL scan covers 1,990 to 1,999 µl. Enter the value you read; the calculator’s own output keeps decimal milliliters. For the full batch sequence, read water purification, and for the evaporator, chemistry.

Which bugs were fixed?

  • Using a selected tool on an item, such as the labeller on an injector, no longer activates the target item when Single click to activate item is on.
  • Alt-Tabbing out of fullscreen no longer returns a small window with a zoomed-out view and a misaligned interface.
  • A store with its power cut no longer lights up again after an after-hours trip or after cancelling the destination screen; the lights stay off until the next night’s power check.
  • The fuel inspection guide image was improved, and the Revolution’s Codeword formatting was cleaned up.
  • Language fixes cover Russian interface text, Spanish supplier calls and animal age tooltips, the Spanish Vending Fountain upgrade tooltip, gender tokens in Spanish and Polish, cassette volume in Spanish and German, and the module warning shown in Japanese.

Where does this fit in the patch history?

Steam timestamps the announcement October 30 at 19:31 UTC. It is the third post-launch hotfix covered here: 1.0.0.1 handled Lou reporting and inspections, and 1.0.0.2 reworked the purifier and cut two prices.

The same day’s post also reports 500,000 copies sold, which is covered on the 1.0 launch page. If you are returning to a run started before this hotfix, check the purifier’s price tag and your own Options.
