Probably Stolen Rent, Deed and Mortgage Guide

Pay weekly rent, manage landlord grace, buy the Business Permit and compare a cash deed purchase against the Loan Shark's mortgage.

How do rent and landlord grace work?

The landlord visits on a weekly schedule to collect rent, and the next bill increases after each cycle. Check the next collection day on the calendar, and do not tie up rent cash in machines or slow-selling stock before he arrives.

Starting rent and the weekly increase depend on your difficulty mode, starting scenario and perks. Bad Lease (+40 starting rent) and Prime Real Estate (+75 starting rent, plus one extra customer) raise that opening bill before the first increase.

If you cannot pay when the landlord arrives, remaining grace defers that week’s bill. Once grace is spent, refusing or failing to pay ends the run. Deferred rent is still debt, so do not spend that cash on machines or slow-moving inventory.

Should you buy the deed outright or take the mortgage?

Both routes lead to a Buyout victory and unlock the Keys to the Kingdom achievement. Once the deed is yours, weekly rent stops.

Path How you claim the deed Main risk during the run
Cash deed purchase Hold the full property price when the landlord arrives and choose the buyout option The buyout cash sits in reserve while weekly rent keeps rising
Loan Shark mortgage Pay the down payment, then clear the scheduled installments instead of landlord rent A missed payment lets the Loan Shark take eligible stock. Without enough stock, the run ends in repossession

Buy the deed in cash when the shop already covers its bills and you want Prodigious (own the deed before day 50). That reserve has to stay put while rent is still due. Take the mortgage when rent is rising faster than you can save the full price, and only if the counter can cover each installment.

When do you need the Business Permit?

The Business Permit is separate from the store deed. The Mentor warns you before enforcement begins, and an official visits to check whether the shop is authorized to operate.

Picking up the permit unlocks the Authorized achievement and keeps the shop open when enforcement arrives. Keep the permit money separate from rent and the deed reserve. The permit shutdown is in the endings guide.

How should you budget around collection days?

In the days before a rent or mortgage payment, sell finished bottles, ingots and appraised goods. A long batch that will not finish in time ties up the cash for that bill.

Use the money guide to separate machine investments from batch costs, and check the starting perks table before combining rent-raising drawbacks with a harder mode. For achievement deadlines tied to the deed, see the Steam achievements list.
